I owned 2 of them, both 5000s models, I gave $20 for one and $300 for the other they're actualy well designed cars and can be pretty dependable, the $20 one ran for 4 years with no trouble at all

For what little work I've personally done on mine, the car is a real treat to work on compared to the bullshit Detroit produces.

My dad drove an Audi 5000 and the only problem we had with it in 3 years was the back window fell off it's track.
My dad used to buy a new car every 2-3 years, we had that car for 3 and it was the only one that didn't go to the shop, as far as I can remember.

i've never worked on an audi, but not long after you left, a friend wrecked my old goldish car. so i got another one just like it but a different color, put a turbo on it and it's fucking scary now man. i want to get a motorcycle now though because gas is kind of expensive.

It would be cool to put a turbo on this car, but it just ain't going to do it with out modifying the catylytic converters, replacing all the tubing with silicon grade, putting a 5speed in, and modifying all the sensors. I can't believe your friend wrecked your car! did he pay for it?
The audi is o.k. to work on, I just been taking way too much time, good thing the factory repair manual will arrive this week. i'm in the process of rebuilding the whole car now. replacing all the gaskets, camshaft oil seals, new bolts, belts, heater core.
it's been two months, and i've only replaced the water pump, thermostat, resevoirs, exaust and tubing. but I've been busy too. The day after tommrrow I will probraly finish removing the intake manifold, give that a good cleaning, and then start working my way into the cylinder heads.
I might get a harley davidson from the owner of this house soon, the guy is superrich, his harley and corvette don't even work, cuz they been sitting in his garage for so long at this house that he don't ever live in.

tell that guy your friend felix is coming to help you around the house and on the audi, so he's gonna be staying with you for a while. then we'll fix his harley and corvette for free if he lets us drive them every once in a while.
i can fix anything with those manuals.

i'll see the dude in about 2 weeks, so I'll let you know.
I got the intake manifold off finally, and just realized I am missing about 10 way overpriced tools., if this car was'nt so nice, i would beat it up with a sledgehammer and drive it until the heads cracked.

lol, i know how you feel. my exhaust manifold is currently hanging off my car along with a bunch of tubing and crap. i just lost the motivation to work on it. also got a flat tire.
do you know what kind of tools you are missing? if i end up going, i could possibly ship some of my tools there. torque wrench, miscellaneous tools...things like that.
