purple indica

I planted some bagseed 16 days ago and 4 days ago. I completely forgot about them for 2 days then when i checked back, i found that one was indica dom. and one was sativa dom. I checked back again today, and my indica<4 days> already has a purplish stem!(actualy, the mid-section of the stem is purple). That was a huge surprise, i was expecting it to be dead when i checked, no water 4 2 days!!!

I don't think purple stems on young plants indicates purple indica but I could be wrong. The purple indica I've grown only changed color towards the end of flowering when about 1/4 of the leaves turned a very dark purple.

i have had seedlings with purple stems also. when the stem starts to grow past the first set of leaves it should change to green. if you dont understand what i mean my plants had purple stems below the first leaves and the new stem that grew from top was green. i have never seen this in any other plants i have grown but i think thats the case with your plants but i might be wrong good luck and take care of your plants

Some exotic strains produce purple stems. Shunk #1 from Holland/California was well known to do this. It's simply the genetics, not a bad thing at all. High Times has published PURPLE BUDS that were the result of an early frost in the Smokey Moutains. So, the way I see it: Purple stems are produced due to genetics. Purple leaves/buds seem to result from enviromental stress sometimes (it's very rare).
