I look at these seeds, these very normal looking seeds, and I know upwards of 75% of them will produce purple buds.
They contain the semi-stabalized (f4) genotype an amateur breeder picked from a rare purple phenotype of "White Rhino" by Nirvana. White Rhino is supposed to be a pretty potent plant, he says his "Purple Rhino" is potent too...I can't wait to get them started!!
I know there is alot of poo-pooing of purple buds because they are usually less potent than non-purple buds. I really hope this strain is a winner. I'm curious to know, what is your impression of purple buds' potency and overall bag appeal?
Personally, I've never smoked any purple but I've smelled and seen Purple Urckle and neither sense gave me an impression that it was a non-potent strain.

It's all about the growing skills utilized. Some people automatically dismiss purple because they feel it is just for your optics, others drool over it even if it's under par (the majority), but the wise people wait to see without their eyes. Either way, post some pictures along the way for everyone's eyes.

Some seeds of mine resulted in purple budded plants. I didn't notice any reduced potency or poorer quality.

There's weak purple like there is weak green. purple #1, always purple always average. then there are strains like Lavender, usually purple almost always killer. Just depends on the genetics of the strain.

The purple I grew was heavily indica-dominant, and was potent in the "knock-out" sense. It has incredible bag appeal, smells and tastes delicious, and gets one very stoned. It definitely had a lot of appeal to the eyes and nose. Formed dense nuggets that broke down into smaller dense nuggets.
I prefer a sativa stone, usually, though...

I had a purple pheno of white rhino. I ran it a couple of times indoors and once outside. Overall was pretty good, the yeild was good the high was strong and smell was good too. I think you will be pleased with it! My Hashberry is turning a nice shade of purple at the moment:)

i had a "purple" euforia clone that i selected as a mother from 30 seed grown plants.
opinion of it: the bud wasnt as potent as the other two "green" mothers i selected, nor were the buds as dense. i only kept it cos it looked cool but it didnt last long as there were better plants to clone from.

I've smoked a few varieties of purple strains.
Granddaddy purp- Wasn't all too impressed, decent stone, but nothing to write home about.
Purple Urkel- This was a knockout, beautiful buds, great flavor, and just a soaring high that left me wanting more after i left my friends place
"Purple Haze"- This was what the strain was purported as, don't know if it's true or not, picked it up on my trip to manchester UK from a delivery service. This falls into the decent but not out of this world category. Definitely a unique and sweet taste, heady high with a bit of couchlock, buds were pretty wispy tho and tended to burn very quickly. However the price and the fact that it was delivered made it just that much better
I've had some buds turn purp due to a temp drop, there were also some purple undertones seen before when i grew it in the summer, they just became more pronounced due to the temp drop. It's been a fav of mine since i smoked it last summer from the person who gave me the clones. I just wish i could make mine taste as good as his though.
