Purple Veins

A section of the stems of one of my salvia plants has turned purple. It's not near the top of the stem, it's at the bottom near where the branch had sprouted from a cut stem so i don't think it's a flower. Extremely dark purple, anyone know what's going on?

Which strain of Salvia? the Wasson clone can show purple in the stem.If you have no deficiencies It's OK to show some purple.Otherwise you may have a slight P deficiency.I'd try a mild fert with micronutes and if that doesn't eliminate it then it's likely just part of the plants phenotypical expression.
