1/2 pint wide mouth subs

i can't find the classic PF 1/2 pints anywhere in my small town, they all have shoulders, so i am thinking, if you are going to case, what difference does it make if it breaks up when you birth it? as long as it is fully colonized. anyone have success with half pints other than the wide mouths?

AFOF uses the 1/2 pint regular mouth with no problems

ok, further thinking here.... no PC, just pot on the boil..would those small ZIPLOC brand tupperware things with the blue plastic lids hold up to boiling? they say they are dishwasher safe? and are perferctly shaped. easy to poke holes through, too

I think they'll hold up without any problems. Just to check you should buy one and test it before you buy a dozen. Some people have had contam problems with the snap on lids too. Just be sure you wipe the sides cleanly. Only thing is with most of those plastic containers you cant tell how far your jars have colonized because they are textured and not totally transparent. You dont necessarily have to use those 1/2 pint ball or kerr wide mouth jars. I use some random weird jars I found at the container store that hold just about (but not quite) half a pint. They have hormetic seals and a clamp instead of a screw on lid. So you can use just about anything you can sterilize.
