The is the first in probably six posts of blueing, black printing mushrooms found here in Virginia, usa. I'm going to refer to them by letters. This first will be A. All help with id is greatly appreciated.
Found on neighbors lawn.
stems 3 to 4 inchs wiggling slightly with age.
caps staying roughly the same shape. margins not tucked in. gills not dipping below margin.
gills slightly notched, tiered, close.
cap blues with age and slight bruising. ( though it doesnt show here.)
cap cracks and tans with age and sun.
black prints. blues at base. did i forget anything. I swear it's some sorta cope, though it isn't like the ones I was finding up in maryland (for those who remember).
Any Ideas? more to come...

I think those are common yard mushrooms.. I'm from Northern Virginia and used to see those all the time growing in grass.

Pan foes in my opinion. The print is not jet black( maybe I'm blind?) and the gills and stem clearly say foes.

Actually in this picture only I see a subb
See the lines where the stem joins the cap? It could just be a finger print up there on the mycelium( which leaves lives like that) or it could be the subb feature. I'd have to sit down and study them in person.

Sorry about this but i removed the two pictures you were refering to from my post, cause i realized that I'm not sure if they are the same.
I did find another picture, this one of the underside of these.
here is the only one i have that sorta shows a little of the blueing.
not a very good pic i know, but there was blueing at the base as well as slight blueing on cap.
here is another angle at the prints. they are pretty black. no brown.

the coloring and the shape of the cap does not seem consestant with subbs. the fact that they maintain the same shape at all ages, not being more conical when young and shows no sign of increased flattening with age. just doesnt seem like a subb.

It is, and they've been bleached by the sun... like ALL mushrooms are. And the only time subbs get wavy flat caps is when they are extremely mature and/or waterlogged. The keep the cone shape for most of the growth. Under perfect growing conditions(which is rare) they will open up fully and flat(wavy flat)
