Stopped colonizing
    #442998 - 10/31/01 10:18 AM (22 years, 4 months ago)

Followed PF Tek. Jars completely covered the bottom half then stopped colonizing. Could it be to little moisture. If so how to cure. Thanks

Yes it?s probably too dry..
Try to inject some sterile water in your cakes..Just be sure to be sterile...
3--4 CC would do the work..
Peace

It could also be that your substrat was not "loose" enought, if you pack it thight in the jar, it will stop colonizing in the tight spots.

I doubt that you packed it down too hard. My first time I packed down really hard and it took awhile but eventually it pinned. I agree that water may have soething to do with it

I did inject between 3 and 6 cc of water as an experiment in half the jars and have seen new growth. Thanks for the input.
