got salmonella, turning vegetarian

Hi.

On tuesday night I was making couscous, utting up raw chicken and i guess i got salmonella? I made sure to be really cleana bout everything, so it was either that, or the olive garden wich i had the next day, but i doubt they could give it to me in their chicken.

All my muscles have almost completely locked up and my joints are sore, ive had a 102+ fever for quite some time now, and my stomache is a wreck. Symptoms finally started to go away a little bit last night so i figured i should eat for the first time in 3 days, and that was a mistake. I have been up all night shitting, and let me tell you, i need some softer toilet paper, my asshole is sore. ;[

So ive been thinking about giving up meat for a while, and slowing down my consumption, but never able to completely kick it. I think this did it for me.

Can anyone suggest anywhere i can read about being vegetarian? I know that may sound a bit funny, but i want to make sure i get proper nutrition, cause even right now i dont, and i need to start living the healthy life.

If you think turning to a vegetarian will prevent any more salmonella poisoning, your wrong. A best bud of mine who by chance is a vegetarian also, got some salad from a salad bar from the local grocer. He got salmonella because of cross contamination.

I dont think it will keep me form getting poisoned again, that is the last of my worries. Im sure I could eat meat the rest of my life without getting it again.

I was just really considering it the last while, and when i got it, i took a deep look into my health, and relized that I dont think i should be consuing meat. Other people can do as they please, but i dont want to.

I have given google some time, and been doing my reading but i know that i cannot pick out the cream of the crop from billions of web sites, and word of mouth is sometimes the best.
