grain spawn

I ordered some oyster mushroom grain spawn severl weeks back from the mushroom people in TN. When it arived it was like a cake of rubber. Extremely developed and hard to break and crumble up but the results were awesome. Today I got a new bag of golden oyster grain spawn from field and forest and it looks like a bag of grain.. I dont see a lot of white spotches in it. Any thoghts? should I let it sit and grow for anohter week or so or just go ahead and use it?

spawn sold by vendors should be ready to use, therefor even if you see the
kernels go ahead and use it.

i once had a jar of oyster spawn i forgot about and after 2 months it was all
invitro pseudo fruited and formed a solid cake, impossible to crumble and
seperate anymore, pretty awesome heh.
