My Freinds Cakes Need To Go To The ER
    #440937 - 10/29/01 06:58 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

I know a cop who is growing mushrooms and he innoculated three cases of jars all at once and two weeks later:
One case is doing OK
Another case shows no sign of any growth
The last case has ten jars that are extremly contaminated exept for two jars. Now this is what he wants to do:
Instead of just leting those two good jars become contaminated with the rest,( which seems like its bound to happen) force the cakes to pin even though they are only about 20% colonized.
How should he do this? Will it work at all?
Maybe he should try and make some mycelium water and re-do the whole case.
He needs some suggestions before all get contamed along with some expert instrutions on how to do so.

Time is my worst enemie now I need some help anyone

I'm no expert but I'd say if your jars have a dry verm layer on top of the cakes theres not much of a chance of the contams spreading from one jar to the next.

Are you saying you inoculated all cases with the same source of spores but for some reason one whole case got contaminated or did you just lose a third of your jars in different cases.

If its all the one case then it would seem like the contams are spreading from jar to jar.
