Contamination HELP!!

Help please, currently growing 55 cakes, with only 1 contamination. grown on a brown rice/vermiculite mix. anyway, I gave a cake to my friend to grow, it was fully colonized and ready to go, all it had left was one week before initiating fruiting, and well I'm not sure what they did to it exactly, but it was still in the jar and 3 large sections of green appeared magically overnight. they claim they did nothing to it, but is it possible for a fully colonized cake to contaminate while still in the jar??? They tried to grow anyway against my advice and completely turned it green. anyway, anyone have an idea why this happened and how to prevent in the future? all replies are welcome. thanks.

Fully colonized, then contams green. Sounds like they did more than nothin' to it, like maybe opened it up to take a peak or something.

Yeah, they were probably fooling around with it. Fully colonized cakes dont get contaminated easily...
