What the hell do I put in for eastern standard time in the my options tab or whatever?  +4 -4  What should I stick in?
I thought it was +5 but I was wrong apparently..

That tab is for setting the offset from UTC (Universal Time, Coordinated) for your time zone. For the Eastern time zone in the US, that's -4 in the summer, and -5 in the winter.

Once you set this, the timestamp you see on all posts will be relative to your local time regardless of the location of the poster.

-4. I only know this because I constantly talk to a friend of mine who is +10. We had a long conversation about the different time zones.
