Why not walk outside and take a look? For now, it's just below the clouds, very low to the horizon. I had to walk a couple blocks to get away from the buildings blocking the view.

I can see it being covered, but it's so cloudy and snowing lightly right now that it's real hit or miss.
So if I understand correctly, after the moon is covered it will start to get red?

there's a 10% chance I'll see it through a break in the clouds, and snap another photo of it similar to this one.
I was prepping to photograph the eclipse with that shot. But it looks like clouds will be on the menu for the evening.

I doubt it - it's more of an alignment of energies.
I just got back inside - the current status of the Moon is too dark for photography.

I was lucky enough for the sky to clear. I took a drive through the redwoods to watch it as the Earth began to shadow the moon, and made it back here in time to get out my nocs and watch the full coverage as closely as I could. Too bad the redness was minimal, it was more of a brown color.
Great pics Saint! It was nothing like that here in NorCal.

Just got the camera a couple days ago... I could have thrown some 15megabyte images on here with amazing quality, but I figure not everyone has cable internet yet

Here is the best I could focus. It was a nice shade of orange red from the shadow of the earth! Was beatiful kind of eerie

Nice picture.
My wife and I went to a movie and didn't see the eclipse. It was just finishing when the movie got out, and on the way home we could see the upper-left portion of the moon partially eclipsed. The moon was very very low on the horizon though, it probably wasn't even visible until about half-way through, not to mention that at the time of totality, it was still light here.
I wasn't too concerned, cuz I took some stellar photos of the Aug eclipse.

Unfortunately it was overcast here in Reno until around 11pm. I didn't get any photos of the eclipse with the new lens.
