Making company jingles. A hoy hoy
    #4361650 - 07/02/05 01:05 AM (11 years, 5 months ago)

I'm thinking of writing jingles for a whole bunch of well known companies.

What do you think the odds are that the companies will actually listen to them?

no offense to you or anyone else who writes jingles to be used in commercials or radio ads.

but to me, that is the lowest form of music there is. even video game music is many times more respectable than company jingles.

of course im sure theres good money to be made doing that, but its just so lame.

music is an art to be used for expression and for having a good time. using it as an annoying advertisement method is a no-no in my book.

of course he doesnt read my book. what im saying is i think jingles in advertisements are really annoying.

generally, music enhances life. but a jingle in an ad has no purpose other than to get stuck in your head so you remember to buy a certain company's product. to me, thats detrimental to life.

you dont dance to jingles, you dont find any insight in the lyrics, they dont make you feel good.

its not real music. its just marketing disguised as music.

If you think you've got some good music, and you don't mind putting up with elitist pricks, go for it. I like good advertising.

good point, but i suppose it depends if you consider it a waste of a song or not.

It would depend on the advert but i cant imagine writing THE most annoying song that gets stuck in everyones head for a toothpaste ad or a breakfast cereal ad.
