Its time
    #4347007 - 06/28/05 04:02 PM (11 years, 5 months ago)

Ive have come to the conlusion if i dont stop doin drugs and acting like a fucktard ill never get anything done and be in constant depression...

Just sold all of my glass and shit.. no more weed or opiates or anything for that matter.. Maybe a couple valiums if it need to smoke is too strong..

Ok Step 1... I need to get in shape badly smokin pot everyday for the last 7 years got me outta shape badly.. i need a good diet/exercise routine..

Does anyone have a good starter diet/routine? Im mainly lookin for cardio for my lungs and to tune up and ill be some lifting but im not lookin to bulk up just to get in shape and loose some weight and excersie my mind with sunshine...

My plan was to write down how many pushups/situps/how much i walked/ran and try to improve but i need a better system.. i need a routine i follow.. i gotta start low cuz my lungs are clogged atm and i get out of breath walkin up a bunch of steps(its bad i know)

Any ideas?

Just go for a jog. We could plan your exercise all day long but it doesn't matter until you go do it. It's going to suck and you know it. First day is always the worst though.

just start eating healthy and exercise regularly. exercising is may not be fun at first but later it really is and then it's not oly good for your physical health but it will also make you feel good so it's interesting for your mental health too.

go for it!

For now, just run. Do the situp/pushup thing if you feel like it, but the
point here is activity. It's mainly for your heart at this point.

Uhm... check the culinary arts forum.

Cut the sweets and "white" foods (white bread, white rice, pasta) and
start eating more protein.

or, if you have money, talk to a nutritionist.

Eat a lot of protein, less sugar, less salt, less processed foods....less soda...more water............stretch, exercise, walk, jog, run, box, lift weights, continue. key to success and my body is cut with muscle...no steroids.... i too when i was younger, and this is young, i was getting out of shape from being burnt out on mj.

less = more, better at night, unless its sat via. gl  :goodluck:

IMO the hardest thing about kicking (cigarettes, pot, over-dramatic co-dependent relationships, whatever) is the holes it leaves in your daily routine.

Not smoking pot left me with this restless feeling. The most agonizing times to be a non-smoker were my down times. When NOTHING else was going on, I was so bored, whereas usually I would smoke pot and watch tv or whatever and hours could pass with little to no activity and I was fine with that.

When I stopped smoking I realized one day how my dog saw me. Assuming dogs can't see in 2-d, my marathon tv watching must look to her like I'm sitting in one spot for 5 hours, staring at a black box in the corner. I realized that back in the day if you sat around your cave for five hours staring at the walls, the other cave men probably thought you were crazy.

My point in all this is to say that the phrase "the best way to get over somebody is to get under somebody" applies in this situation, too. Take all the time in your day you would dedicate to doing whatever you're trying to quit and dedicate it to something else.

Push it to masochism if that's what it takes. See if you can beat yourself by a quarter mile every day. Pick up meditating and see how long you can go without your mind wandering off. Try to get through a Steven King book without falling asleep. Something, anything to fill your time.

If you give yourself a new challenge, especially one that you suspect you may not be up to, your brain and body have something new to dwell on.

It's fuckin rad to watch your body go from a sack of complaining fat and bone to a fully functional machine whose components work in natural perfection with each other. Through dedication you can turn your pain into progress.

Any thoughts on alternative activities or new challenges to replace old habits?
