I just got me my brf and the biggest size i could find was 2lb. I got 5 o' these bags and I was just wondering about how many 1/2 pint jars this could do. I was also wondering if you use micron magic filter disks if you have those on while the jars are in the pressure cooker? do i need to steralize my verm & brf in a pressure cooker and then steralize again when they r in the jars or is this not needed?

How do you innoculate with the Micron Magic disks? Do you stick the needle right through the disc or do you have to use a glove box tek and take the lid off?

I find it much better to start with metal lids. It will provide a good 0% air exchange for germination so contamination is unlikely and is much safer in innoculation. Then, after I see aggressive growth I take off the top and add a filter disc. Then things really pick up.

terz, just pressure cook with foil over top and a rubberband to hold it on. innoculate directly through the filter discs. i put small pieces of tape over these innoculation holes to keep out contamination.. incubate in a chamber with high humidity and temps in the 80's if you can... there you go...
