HarpD:

I do not think I'm taking this too far by any stretch of the imagination. Marijuana is possibly the most dangerous drug to society out of all of them, and will only end up ruining the lives of its users.

My statements may seem intense, but it's only because I do not hide the truth. I have never seen a productive marijuana smoker in my life, as they become psychologically obsessed with "smoking pot" or, as some under the influence say, poking smot.

You say smoking a joint once in a while will not destroy your life, but I disagree. Marijuana is like a spiral slide, where you get on and push off. At first you may only be slightly lower than where you were originally, but soon you gain speed and eventually reach rock bottom- all because you wanted to get high.

Some would support loosening the restrictions on marijuana or, God forbid, legalizing it because smokers "do not harm anyone else". I disagree. Marijuana harms the productivity of society and the health of its users, which eventually brings the country down as a whole. Marijuana is a plague that needs to be wiped out.

Sincerely,
Ravus

Have you ever thought about the fact that the US government is attempting a genocide (destruction of an entire species) of cannabis? This puts our leaders alongside Hitler and Milosovic and *gasp* Saddam Hussein. Then again, destroying a vital (and beautiful) part of our ecosystem has never really been a problem for the higher-ups in the oil industry...I mean, the president.

Support plant rights,
DHarp

Sorry, but destroying a harmful narcotic like marijuana isn't genocide. Nor does marijuana play any role in our ecosystem, it's simply a drug that needs to be removed from the planet.

And plants can't be compared to people. Destroying a lifeless herb isn't the same as killing off entire races of human beings.

Why resort to ad hominem attacks? I am simply pointing out the obvious, even if others do not like to hear it.

Actually, I don't believe in God and support the legalization of cannabis. I was just kidding.  :smirk:

Good job though. We should set up a Shroomery debate threads so as to strengthen Shroomery members when they actually have to debate a real anti-drug person.

i would definitely take part in the debate threads, that would be an amazing new feature. good idea. but you got my blood pumping too... bastard!
edit- o yea, how would they wipe out an entire species of plant when people are growing it in their own homes, and its over looked in some countries? doesn't make any sense or bother me because everything I've ever gotten was home grown.

ohh man, after I read the first few pages of this thread I was so going to post some response like "This thread is a joke! the only way MJ ever ruined anyone's life is by getting them arrested and put in the slammer."

thank god you really were joking

though I do know a couple people who cant go a day without getting high, and if they do they become extremely irritable and cant sleep.

personally i think they're bullshitting themselves. they only get those symptoms because they've convinced themselves that they will.

I have quit smoking pot in the midst of heavy/daily use three times in my life.  each time i stopped abruptly and completely, and the only withdrawal symptom I got was stomach aches for a couple days.

marijuana is soooo not that addictive.

also, I guess most people smoke pot just for the sake of getting high.
my primary purpose for smoking pot is to boost my musical creativity/insight.  I have no urge to get high and then watch tv, or play video games or anything lazy like that.

i think those dudes i mentioned earlier think they're addicted to pot because they get high for no other reason than to get high..
im not saying thats a bad thing, but its much more likely to develop into a habit and get out of hand..

i dont know though, im pretty high right now  :crazy2:

Same here, except I'm not a musician. When I'm trying to write a story, marijuana really helps me think of some surreal plots or twists that no one except another stoneman (as American Dad would say) would expect.

I never really felt useful just lighting up a bowl and then watching TV. It seems like such a waste of a high, as opposed to hiking in the woods, lighting up a bowl, looking at nature and then coming home to listen to some Pink Floyd and write some MJ-inspired stories.

exactly rav

if you're gonna be stoned, you might as well put it to good use. walking in the woods, or cruising around on a bike on a nice day, or fishing.. anything like that is a great way to spend your stone.

#1 is playing guitar though. when im high and im jamming, I can play the exact phrases and notes that Im thinking of in my head. it took me 5 years to get to that level, but its only when im high that I can do it.

hey man, maybe next time you spark a doob you can come up with a story for me to base a song on.

I have soooo much music that I come up with but almost no lyrics..
I never know what to write songs about.

Am I a Joe P. if I'm a loser living at home, but only smoke pot occasionally? =)

I haven't smoked for 3 weeks by circumstance. I would smoke a few times a week if I had pot all the time.
