ok how exactly do I use the coco coir?
1./ Do I just let it soak in water till it expands and then use it as casing material alone? or do i mix it?
2./ Do I drain excess water out of it and or steralize it prior to using as casing
3./ How much should I use? about the same as a verm casing?

1. You use it alone, though you probably could mix it
2. I believe you want it to be moist but not drenched. You do not need to sterilize.
3. same as a verm casing should do
This is not something I have tried yet, so I am not sure if this is correct, but I think this is how it goes.

yes, same as verm casing, soak the coco cube until it is full, then squeeze out the water with your clean hands until you can squeeze no more out. dont pack the top layer, let it stay loose. keep in dark, ventilated humid spot for a couple, of days until it is fully colonised. then, the shrooms should flow!!! we will see how mine turns out...

rehydrating it with boiled water makes it soak up water more quickly. coir can dry out quickly though.

just wondering how come there's no need for sterilization? I will be using mine for my first time soon, and i have this _hugeass_ brick that's just kinda lightly wrapped up (not a shrink wrapped piece or anything)...so right now air/spores/etc could probably get onto the thing. Wouldn't it be best to sterilize because of this? Or is it alright to just wet it and go...?

My friend's friend's mom uses it and I heard through the grape vine that adding some h2o2 to the water you're soaking in will help a bit also when mising use a 10% h2o2 solution it works wonders...

Here`s a link for Coco-fiber $1.59 for a lb brick actually the shipping was more than the brick itself But I bought 2 lbs and it will last forever expands beyond belief when soaked with water. I have a casing pinning in a small tupperware and I swear therre has to be 30 or 40 covering the top..Best casing for me so far. It`s well worth it http://www.discount-hydro.com/growmediums.asp
