ID help please, oysters maybe??
    #428810 - 10/17/01 07:31 PM (22 years, 11 months ago)

I'm guessing they are some type of oyster, but thats only a guess. Anyone know what this is for sure? If they are oysters, how should I try cooking them up? Any suggestions?

Here are a few pics, I think it was a dead white oak log they were growing from....

Hey LK, good to see your posts St Thomas from Poppies, yes those are indeed oysters...mmm...very tasty. Same as the ones I just picked up here in Quebec, Canada. They are choice...very tasty, try them in sauted in garlic butter, or in a meat sauce, with pasta...or in an omellette...Cheers
St Thomas

Yeah, I like 'em in the garlic butter, too!
I eat mine with bacon and eggs! Delicious!
Stay cool!-Levi7.

Wow, that post just made me really hungry. What kind of trees do oysters usually grow on? I need to go out and find me some.
