ID please; details inside

These are the two different species I found in my yard this morning. The brown are as follows:
a. Upstate South Carolina, growing just in the ground.
b. The gills are darkbrown and come out from the rims of the cap up to the top of the stem.
c. I don't have a quality measuring instrument with me, but you can compare with the penny.
d. It is not hollow and is a smooth shaft.
e. It is a dark-brown cap and is the standard lawn shroom shape. From the top downwards it gets bigger. Smooth cap.
f. I'll have it tomorrow.
g. I have not noticed any significant bruising colors.
h. Smells like store-bought mushrooms.


a. Upstate South Carolina just growing in the grass.
b. The gills are the same color of the cap; whitish-yellow. They are attached to the top of the cap.
c. No proper measuring instrument; refer to the penny.
d. The stem is hollow but thick on the sides.
e. The cap is whitish-yellow and is very waxy. You can barely keep your finger on it because it just slides off. The cap is very weak and when I tried to pull a gill off, the whole side of the cap came off.
f. I'll have it tomorrow.
g. No significant bruising that I have noticed.
h. No smell...but then again my nose is stuffy.

first things first you wont find nothing active in ur yard and without a spore print those pics do no justice

I know I won't find anything active. I just wanted to know for the sake of knowing my mushrooms. Also I told you, I'm getting a sporeprint now. It takes overnight y'know.

the two on the left look like they are the panaeolous ggreatone species. i cant verify myself... im a noob. if they are they are mildly active. they havent been found north of tampa yet though. either its spreading like a wildfire or you have something else. i donno about the other ones you found there, i think ive seen that species around, but no ID. goodluck

It looks like you found the two most common species of lawn shrooms. Neither are active.

The ones on the left appear to be Panaeolina foenisecii; brown spore print will confirm.

The ones on the right appear to be Conocybe lactea, rusty brown spore print will confirm Conocybe.

Both species can be found growing in nearly every lawn in your area this time of year. Now you will be able to recognize them.  :laugh:

Damnit! I'd get a spore print but my retard friend threw them away. He thought someone left them in here so he tossed them. Shit...but yeah, the little yellow ones are all over my yard and alot of them are like whitish with yellow nipples. Thanks shroomydan.
