okay read a book called Fabric of the Cosmos. I believe it's by David Greene (i think i might have messed the name up w/ another author but search until Title). i think u'll like it... it's a lot about physics and quantum theories but really.. it's so well written that it really just opens u up to thinking about EVERYTHING.

his book "the elegant universe" is pretty good so far. and hyperspace by michio kaku is good also.

Whats interesting is how there can be numerous solar systems with totaly different laws governing them, they dont need to fallow the rules we know here today, the galaxy can be donut shaped or twisted. Its mind boggeling.
