Man, I can't stand that movie. I really should watch it again though. It's been a long time since I have seen it, so perhaps my opinion would differ now.

Why can't you stand it? I'm just curious if it's this reason - some of my friends who like drugs see it as a movie with an anti-drug stance, which it most certainly is not...that's not what the book or the film are about. It's just about addiction, not substances.

Well, I don't exacctly remember anything specific that I disliked about it. I only saw it once about 2 years ago or longer. That's why I say that I should watch it again because I have had my eyes opened a lot in that period of time since I saw it.

yes... any addiction, the book is great but hard to read due to the fact of no punctuation (or very little anyway). I love the movie because it hit me at a very difficult moment in life and really helped me turn shit around for the better.

Ah hell, I already know Jessica Simpson isn't a member of the Mensa club.. from what I've seen on her show with her husband Nick.

But, this thread is not a tribute to Jessica's IQ..

It's all about her.. "lips, hips and tits", as they say...

The Power of a Woman, in short.

I'm a fan of Cate Blanchett.... She plays in Bandits, Lord of the Rings, The Missing, etc.

She is getting old now.. BUT DAMN!

That Jessica.. HOT body, COLD mind.

Sorry just reading threads when I came upon this one. I think the movie was VERY well made which just made it all the more owful. The "ass to ass" part you guys speak of is depressing. Why watch a movie that leaves you no better. I turned it off towards the end... I have a mother addicted to speed, a few friends who suffered through a heroine addiction (I haven't heard from them in a year...) and I don't need to see that crap in a movie.

Sorry for the rant... It was a well made movie. I just don't see why people want to watch a depressing movie like that when real life is depressing enough.

Because if all we watched were saccharine sweet movies that extolled the beauty of life, we'd be kidding ourselves.

By the way... Jessica Simpson is not on the top of my list. I'll show you a beautiful woman.

Her name is Karyn Dwyer.

why watch a movie that leaves you no better? Didn't you learn anything from the movie? Well, ok i'm getting defensive, this is my favorite movie, I used to be a real spun out, cracked up pos, this movie found me at that particular time in my life, I know this sounds really cheesy but it changed me. It took lots of intervention from friends and family don't get me wrong, but this movie really made me step back and look myself in the mirror... "where am going with me life?" "I don't want to be like that"

blah blah sob story sorry... but look at me now! YAY ME!!! (again sorry but I'm very proud of this accomplishment)
