Family Guy vs. The Simpsons

The Simpsons and Family Guy are both shows that I watch alot, and love. The major reason I prefer The Simpsons is its overall quality. While Family Guy centers on generally dull themes and pathetic plot-lines, "The Simpsons" is able to shine far above with its brilliant plot lines, well-done orchestral scores and deep messages. An example of this is in the episode "Bart Sells his Soul" when he sells his soul to Milhouse he has a dream that he is getting on the rowboat to heaven but does not have a paddle to accompany him (think about this). The Simpsons also have characters that one can actually become attached to and take seriously while still find hilarious at the same time, it is still a good show but I will admit its quality has plummeted in the later episodes, but with that many goddamn seasons how could you not run out of fresh ideas?
It is also a known fact that Family Guy openly plagiarized the Simpsons and got away scott free somehow. There is a website out there somewhere that shows about 30 clips from Family Guy episodes and then shows clips from earlier episodes of the simpsons that are exactly identical shot for shot and the dialogue is almost exactly the same. Unfortunately I lost the link but all you need to do is watch some early episodes of the simpsons and then watch family guy and you can see the thievary for yourself. Even a few of the themes for the episodes and fresh jokes are stolen , quick one off of my head is the shirt that Peter wears that sais "No Fat Chicks".
Although Family Guy still does have those random idiotic obscure jokes that I sometimes find hilarious. They have different styles of delivering the jokes but are definitely still in the same genre, just look at the characters and situations. I will admit I do love them both...... but
I think Simpsons is the better show. I wonder, are most of you with me on this?

To be quite honest, I never have found Family Guy to be all that funny. Amusing sometimes but not "lol" funny.

The Simpson's show is the dive into human imagination. Profound look at our culture, and yeah funny.
While Family Guy is the dive into human absurdity. This on the other hand is just absurd, while making a social commentary but more at the extreme.
The Simpsons is deep and funny, Family Guy is funny and absurd.

I like family guy a lot, and I've recently lost interest in the simpsons, just haven't been watching them much.
I think those "plagiarisms" were probably more tips of the hat. And yes, Family Guy is absurd and the Simpsons are more intelligent.
I noticed one day while watching my Family Guy DVDs on acid just how poorly animated it is. Watch the animation closely on the older episodes...its terrible!

I think South Park used to be pretty good but it sucks now in my opinion, just a bunch of lame pop-culture references and random stupid humor that the two writers and creators of the show think are very cleavor. They need to get some new damn writers and they will be A O.K.
but thats just my two cents.
