well, kind of, I just watched the movie and was awe struck by one certain part of it. The part about intent and emotions focused on water which is then frozen. It is interesting IMO....so here is a link to some pictures and a better explanation.

Frequently bullshit is facinating, but alas - there is no substance to his claims. True stuff is w-a-y more interesting.

Emoto published his work without peer review (surprised?). This means that he can report anything at all, and since no other scientists were offered the opportunity to comment, his word goes uncontested.
The book is currently too-recently published (2004) for others to have tried to reproduce his results. I suspect that when they do, this will all turn out to be be bunk.
Even if debunked, it will of course not prevent millions from purchasing his book and consulting services. I gotta hand it to him; wish I'd thought of this first.

Until the groundbreaking work of a pioneer Japanese researcher whose astonishing discovery about water, documented photographically, changed most of what we didn't know?and led to a new consciousness of Earth's most precious resource.
Sounds like the calling-card of a crackpot
You don't see most scientists hyping their work this much. The idea is to let the data speak for itself

I was interested in this movie at first, but if all the data is unsubstantiated then I guess I won't waste my time.

I watched it, with high hopes, and was completely unimpressed.
Looks like it was written by someone with only the barest of knowledge in quantum theory.

but what if his tests were recreated and it was shown to be true? The whole movie is basically going down an avenue in which QP has shown to not just be metaphysical. The Young Slit experiment has proven that our mere observation of photons changes their behaviour and even existence. I admit a lot of it was new age crap, even with the cheesy music and all, but it just put into laymans terms what the spiritual implications of Qp are having.

The Young Slit experiment has proven that our mere observation of photons changes their behaviour and even existence.
I would say it just shows that our experiment detects photons/light in different manners depending on how we set up the experiment.
The Copenhagen interpretation is not the only interpretation of QM theory

If you would like me to, I will post the thousands of QM experiments done to try and throw a wrench into the findings of the Young Slit experiment or that try to observe without observing. This experiment has been done in so many ways and each time with the exact same result. They have even gone so far as to use reflective mirrors, atomic spin, and planned entanglement to try and trick the photon or sub atomic particle into thinking that it wasnt being observed. It doesnt matter which theory of QM you adopt, the Young Slit experiment is a reliable peice of experimentation, and it has yet to be discredited at all, by anyone.

but what if his tests were recreated and it was shown to be true?
The we can have a REAL discussion on the implications. However, as it stands, this is the same old "Secret Life of Plants" scenario from the '70s that everyone went gaga over and was shown to be hogwash.

Who said it was discredited, or in any way wrong?
Because I sure didn't

I dont think anyone is really going gaga over the frozen water thing. it was just a little mini side plot in the movie, nonetheless, it is a worthy experiment that should be taken further to see if there is any validity to it. But yes, it is crap until there is further study done on it.

No, it is not. Worthy experiments are subject to peer-review.

i was talking about the idea of the experiment. Yes , i agree that what the asian guy did wasnt scientifically sound, but the idea of the experiment is awesome.

If you make a claim, the burden of proof is on you. Some of their claims don't seem to hold water ,so...
With that out of the way, I liked some of the movie. I believe personally that the way we choose to think about things can help to shape our reality. The movie got me thinking more about this. It got me thinking about Quantum Physics also.
Too bad that they made statements of fact that weren't verifiable. If it was a SiFi movie we could have all gone on our merry way. Which I choose to do by not believing or rejecting outright everything the movie had to say.

I agree that different setup/proceedures for experiments will cause different results
As far as I know, there is no experiment which involves direct human "observation" of photons. Probably because we can't directly observe a photon.
