question about a flowhood and clean enivroment....

im still new to the growing part of shrooms and ive searched around the forums and havent found a good answer.. if i put a flow hood in my room and i go to work with my jars, transfer ect.. i know the flow hood cleans the air.. but dosent it also stir up the dirty air that bring all the contams into my mushies?? like i said im still a noob so plz be gentle:P~ wouldnt it be better to be in a room with no air flow and spray it down with lysol & oust and some rubbing alchol?

You would be just fine in a room with no air flow as long as you keep it clean. Flow hoods are great, however not really economical. The trick behind them is HEPA. You can achieve similiar results with a economical HEPA filter fan. The HEPA in the flow hood, cleans the germs from the air, so you have soft flowing air, however it is clean of mold spores. My friend built her own glove box with flow hood. The Flow hood creates positive air pressure in the glove box,and cleans the air, both of which help with keeping germs away. But yes, you can use a clean room with no air flow and achieve successful results.

the hepa filter of a flowhood keeps the contams from blowing on your work.
and a pre-filter will help your hepa filter last longer.

and yes working in a room without a DRAFT will work too.
clean the room...and use Oust...and you will have good results.
but not as good of results as if you used a glovebox or flowhood though.

so the flow hood blows into your glove box?? if so that would make more sence.. if not.. i understand the whole hepa filter and pre filter and how/why they work.. but in order for it to blow clean air out it has to take dirty air in.. in turn stiring up all the dirty air making for a very dirty work enviroment. like i said im still new so im sorry if i sound like a tard:P~ but ty guy/girls for trying to help me:)

the area immediately in front of the hepa is clean, the more it operates the
cleaner the environmental air will eb as well.

The flowhood doesn't stir up dirty air. A flowhood produces a very gentle stream of airflow at 100 feet per minute or so. A proper flowhood will bend the flame of a cig lighter, but not blow it out. You work right in front of the flowhood with your work right up next to the filter. I run the flowhood for an hour or so before I begin work with the door to the room closed. This cleans the room air very well.
