Yet another "this country is driving me nuts" post

This is mostly a rant about the US, since that's where I live. 

I know I should probably stay away from the News Forum.  Reading some of the stuff in there makes me SO FREAKING ANGRY. 

You ever have those days where the one and only thing you want to do is pack your bags and get the fuck out of here? 

I'm serious...it HURTS I want to leave so bad.  Because I am so sick of what's happening here in this country. 

NO I don't believe that we're the only country who is going through a change/rough times.  It's the entire world. 

But there are still some places where things aren't so draconian. 

It's not just about the right to smoke pot.  It's about living in a place where personal responsibility means something, where the government doesn't have to be your parent all the time. 

I just feel so freaking...claustrophobic in this country.  It only seems to get worse and worse. 

sigh.

America is a big country.  There's plenty of places in this country that are awesome.  You might want to try California.  Pot is decriminalized out here. :stoned:

Personally, though, I try not to judge a country by its government.  It's the people that count in my book, and while there are quite a few places where the people are rather unpleasant, there's also places where people are cool as fuck.

I don't really think about it anymore, though... at this point, it's just not worth the energy I would waste on negativity by getting worked up about it.

Being in the South doesn't help.

Changes of scenery are good, you may find a good niche here in the states if you look in the right places. I hear California is beautiful :smile:

Yeah, I thought I was to that point myself.  Then something I read set me off. 

And maybe you guys are right!  Maybe I just need to chill out and look at the good things about this country.  There are some FANTASTIC people here in Austin.  I guess if I have to live in the Bible Belt area, there are worse places to be then Austin!  :stoned:

You should look at the good!!! Because there is alot of it, but if things continue I think those things will disapear...The least you could do is share your feelings of how most of your country is going sour and hope that sparks change in others.??
