The Master Cleanse

So whose heard of this?

I first heard about it a couple months ago and have since run into MANY people who advocate it and came across the book - Its basically a diet of Juice from Fresh lemons, Maple Syrup, Distilled water and Cayenne pepper.. along with the use of a herbal tea laxative.

Supposedly this provide's a cleanse and nutrition and it is recommended to fast for 12 days or more - apperently it expells all the hardened build up and waste inside your intestines and excess mucuous aswell as eliminating toxins and congestion.

I do something similar

2x a year fasting for 7-20 days depending on stress , work etc

cleansing is good

That's no special diet.. they've known for many many years the benefits of fresh lemon juice and cayenne pepper.
It does indeed cleanse the system very thoroughly.. lemon juice is a very powerful antiseptic and anti-scorbutic. Germs cannot live in lemon juice. It stimulates the liver, dissolves uric acid and other poisons, liquifies bile, and basically prevents disease and cleanses the system of impurities.

Cayenne is one of my favorite herbs ever. It is the strongest herbal stimulant, it aids digestion by stimulating stomach secretions.. it immediately increases circulation to the whole body, it strengthens the heart.. a whole host of things. It is a tonic, an alcerative, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, antisepctic, stimulent.

Now I don't know about the maple syrup. But water is always good. Lots and lots of water.

I don't know if I would fast on that alone. Especially for 12 days. The colon needs bulk or else it will atrophy from lack of use. For an elimination diet I recommend you drink that concoction.. but I would eat a grapefruit or two, 4 or 5 oranges, and 3 lemons a day. These fruits not only will provide bulk but they have other types of acids that will greatly help the cleanse. You could throw in grapes, watermelon, or whatever you like.. but stick mainly with citrus fruits, and don't mix more than two fruits at a time for the sake of your stomach. A raw vegetable salad for lunch and maybe some cooked vegetables once a day. Do not use cane sugar or salad dressing at all.

Take a bath everyday to eliminate toxins from the skin. Preferably an epsom salts bath. Massage yourself while in the water to aid the elimination. Rub vigorously with a towel when done.. this opens the pores.

For your herbal teas, best to start with an herbal laxative, like slippery elm. Not only is slippery elm extremely beneficial to the intestinal tract..this will help greatly to start the cleansing & eliminate mucus and waste matter.

While on the diet do not eat ANY - bread, oil, butter, potato, sugar, canned fruit, cakes, eggs, milk, spaghetti, tea, coffee, chocolate, ice cream, white flour products of any kind, liquor, etc, etc.

To ease yourself out of the diet eat sparingly of easily digested foods like baked potato(WITH the skin), lima beans, tender peas, corn, tomatoes, carrots, etc. Best to eat things raw or as close to raw as possible.

that kit seems like alot of expense considering what i purchased to do the cleanse was less than $20.

Its weird, first this guy staying at my house talked about this cayenne cleanse that ejected a massive intestine tube out of you, then i had a crazy acid trip on 420 and someone left "we're doing this" (with a link) on my msn, and then hitch hiking around ive met 4 or 5 people that strongly recommend it and then i came across the book - its meant to be.

Ive got a cold at present, but once im feeling better im going to embark - i dont think it'll be much of a challenge and i see it as pushing me into a meditative space and vegetarian habit.

perhaps ill post a log in... mental health/support group central.

screw waiting until your cold is gone.. no better time than the present. Colds come from sickness in the body. Cleansing will get rid of it. Start eating fruit. Drink shittons of water. Cayenne and lemon juice will kill a cold faster than anything.

oh yeah.. I forgot you can do that in florida. I havent seen many orange trees around here but I'm sure they are there somewhere.
