Light/Heat source
    #418343 - 10/08/01 04:35 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

The people I live with insist on not turning the heat on in the house until Thanksgiving, and since I'm in upstate NY, it makes for quite a cold Oct/Nov-The little light bulb inside my cat's terrarium seems to provide a good amount of heat though, but lately he's been checking the thermometer/hygrometer and it's a little too warm, so he's decided to put the light on a timer to keep good temperature-1/2 hr on, 1/2 hr off during the day, and 1 hr on, 1/2 hr off during the night...my cat wants to know if this is a good idea though, as far as the cakes getting their light constantly shined on them and then being put back into the dark-wants to know if this could affect their growth-and I wouldn't want my pussy to get upset...

To see a world in a grain of sand
And Heaven in a wildflower-
To hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour

They will be fine. The mycelium only uses light to sense direction, what form, even if it were sporadic is inconsequential. BTW, I am upstate to....where you from (If you don't mind me asking on an semi-anonymous drug related internet message board ;))
