What type of Light is needed? (bulb)

If one were to grow common strain mushrooms in a cooler sized terrarium what would the proper light that is needed be? Basically I'm asking what type of bulb/light is needed for proper growth.

Any old light will do. I like flourescents.

I wouldn't go to any great lengths to hook up a light system. They are not plants, they get no energy from the light, only a sense of direction. Make sure whatever light you may use, doesn't give off to much heat. Like puscle says, a flourescent is fine. So is jsut taking to lid off to look at them a few minutes each day.

Actually, light rated in the 5500k range and up is much better for initiating pins. I use cool white deluxe fluoros, rated at 6500k -- VERY blue spectrum.

What about using a blacklight?? I wonder what effects it would have on non-plant mushrooms?
