In need of knowledge...

Hi. I've been lurking around here for a while and need some advice. There are about 10 fully colonized jars PF. The tape is removed over the holes and they are flipped. I've been trying to trigger invitro pinning by exposing to indirect light for about 2 hours at morning and 2 hours at night with flourescent blacklight. One of the jars is completely covered except for in one place where it reflects bright orange under the black light. 2)Also noticed a little blueing, and in some, even slightly tannish areas.
I was planning on Hippies tek to avoid the failure that has been following me around... But I seen some really nice pics at Fanaticus wiht the Inner Resevoir tek. Can this tek be accomplished with an all ready to birth cake? And should I really get perlite or could a small layer of moistened and drained vermiculite work? Sorry so many questions. But newbies need help. Any suggestions would be good.
Oh and I turned some of the jars on their sides. I thought that they might need air. THANX

your cakes are turning blue due to lack of moisture. You should tighten the lids.
I don't know about that bright orange, but it sounds like a contam. Separate this jar from the rest, and keep an eye on it.
I don't believe the inner reservoir tek can be done with a colonized cake. You must do this while preparing the cakes. Do it on your next batch...
Yes, verm. will work, but perlite is better. Turning the jars on their sides/upside down will give them air. Good that you did that, because you want to trigger pinning. But since your cakes are blueing, maybe you would want to "dunk" them for 12 hours or so, and then put them back in the jar. Good luck.

What strain are you using? Not all pin invitro and most only hit and miss.
I would 'birth' the cakes if I were you, and watch the miracle of creation!

Thanx for the input. Using regular PF strain. Would love to birth but experienced too many problems before. Casing, however, seems to be a good idea. The orange(under blacklight) seems to have gone away. Weird! Any comments on casing would be great. Again Thanx
