my neihbors cat used a blue flourescent light for his cakes n casings, it worked great... but he noticed no difference with the regular incandescant light bulbs (the most common light bulb in ur house)

I think your talking about a black light, that lights up the white stuff in your room? Fun for tripping, but not ideal for growing anything, even fruiting mushrooms... The blue spectrum light that you need is just a simple flourescent grow light, you can find them at the nearest *mart, or any grow shop...

yeah, from what ive read black lights (the purple lookin ones) cause mutations...
but my neighbors cat used an 18" flourescant... it was like a cool white bulb, only more on the blue spectrum... if this is what u have, go ahead and use it.

rock, i love lookin @ twisted up mushrooms.

or do you mean people mutate? into shroom topped crazy beings! okay well what % of the shrooms are mutated, liek all of them? hows the yeild in comparison? i would be interested in some numbers before i prepare for a tinyyeild or something...
