 DB Kit questions and Fast Food of the Gods Questio

Heelo all! Brand new to the board and the sport - so bear with me....
My cat just got 4 syringes of B+ from the haws eye and she is ready to first time grow. With time being a problem - My cat decided to buy the DB kit. Seems easy enough...
I have read several posts about the rye berries not being the most reliable substrate... Should I sterilize these bags before the cat innoculates? Just to be sure...
Also - How do these things smell? can the cat keep the box inside in the spare closet? I just hate to see my poor cat mess up and lose lots of money.
Second Question:
My literate cat also found a tek to grow on erowid.com called "fast food of the gods cultivation method".
This tek seems too good to be true- Mix some stuff in a bowl, microwave for 8 minutes, squirt in a syringe and set the bowl on a shelf. 3 weeks later- Presto! Mushrooms!
Man, Can this work? Talk about easy! Anyone tried it yet?

I know someone who is has containers inoculated between 1 and 2.5 weeks ago, also on their first try of this tek. They are trying with different size rubbermaid jars, different substrates (verm w/ either rye flour or brown rice flour), and eight cube strains. Of the six containers, the largest container (B+), over 2 qts and inoc'd 2.5 weeks ago, had red contam (maybe bacterial), but the contam has since disappeared - though I'd expect it to come back. Two small (HA strain) 1pt jars have run out of moisture and have stopped growing after a third though the substrate. The remaining three (P.R., Thai, & Gold. T), inoc'd about a 1-2 weeks ago) have moderate to rapid growth. I'm sure he'll try with the other strains if these work out OK.

If you resterilize your DB rye bags, you will ruin them. Just innoculate them as they are.No, they do not smell. The closet will work fine.

I tried it once.
I took the mixing part of the tek over and use it for PF cakes, the rest of the tek didn?t work at all, I got massive contamination.
8 min of microwaving is too little for sterilisation, also inoculating the substrate in an open air makes it very prone to contaminants.

I have not tried the "God's" tek, but I have used the microwave part to make PF cakes. I have had successful results in Tupperware and Pyrex dishes, using the microwave for 8 min on high. Also when I inoculated, I used the oven tek.
