Morels outdoor bed
    #4103767 -

Last spring I found about 2 dozen morels. I rinsed them in a ten gallon bucket of water and and put the water in a watering can. Then I got allot of elm branches and shredded them up and mixed them with soil. After that I covered it all with a bunch of leaves. I sprinkled the spore water all over it. This year this is what I got.

Sorry I picked most of them before I decided to take pics.

Where did you put the shredded elm branches + soil + spore solution + leaves?! Near any tree or in the open space? And about the weather and temps? Give more details...

See the bed is on the edge of the woods, directly on the other side of the railroad ties, to the left of those patio blocks.
I water it everyday that it doesnt rain, I hope I get another flush.

This picture is a view of what it looks like if you look up from the bed, its sort of under some trees.

For the past two weeks the temps has been 65-70 in the day, and 40's at night. This week its been 50-65 in the day 35-40 at night.

Oh, WOW! That is awesome! I'm going to do that this year so I have a chance at some morels for the following years.  How clever...thanks for sharing that!

Thats awesome, not to talk shit about the tek. But most likely got live mycelium from the water that caused, worked well either way

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

Its not really a tek. This guy I know told me about how he took some mushroom rinsed water and put it in an area that usually didnt have morels and it worked so I  took it another step. Knowing morels like to grow around elm trees i decided to add elm to the dirt and put spores on  it.

Hey awesome job. Sometimes, someone comes along and makes us realize that we are all overcomplicating things. Congradulations.

I have a book, written several decades ago, that suggests using your method for creating a patch of any species. IIRC, he uses it to "create" a patch of boletes under a conifer.

overcomplicating in the search of claiming something as your OWN is often a fall in the pursuite of knowledge. Simplicity is where its at, as with being humble.

Good job on the patch.

My budy and i went out and took a looksy in the woods and found one about an inch high. I think it will be our time to find some soon in the next few days or so.
