You gotta get people out and vote now. The bill might get over-ruled by federal law. Perhaps though it would prevent state officials from enforcing marijuana ilgalizengatiopn.

technically, it's only on the bill so far. and even then, the feds have supreme say over this kind of stuff and can bust anyone on the federal level. If ya move to Nevada now, you could vote yes! I'm hopin for the positive, but we shall see.

This must go through and send a bold and clear message to the feds. States should have the right to decide their own penalties for drug use, if they wish for any to exist at all. I hope this passes, as well as the states rights to medical marijuana bill.

Don't get too excited. Most people who smoke weed don't vote. Its ironic that they refer to it as the "initiative" -Something that many stoners don't have a lot of. It would be nice if it passed though.

did you learn nothing from "An american tale"? Never say never. This attitude is a big part of why it has not happened yet. You have to belive it's possible before you take the steps to make it happen. The feds may and probably will freak, but while there is still trace shreads of democracy left in this nation we need to let the federal government know that refusing state rights is not going to be tollerated, and if this happens, even if it gets shut down by the feds, The thing is going to come up again elsewhere, and again elsewhere, and eventually It will happen. The balls rolling and gaining momentum. Fed can slow it down but as long as we don't cave and accept thier tyranny over the issue, it won't be stopped.

I have seen these type of bills make it to a vote before. (the simple fact that they got to a vote is a big step)
However the voting public is never going to legalize weed.
NEVER
The only way that weed will ever become a legal drug, is if a President gets behind the movement.
This wont happen either because he would have to keep this part of his agenda a secret until he is elected.

The only way weed will ever be leagalized is if the voteing public stops belivieing that it cant happen and get off thier respective asses and vote it into leagalization. I can't happen without belife.

You are under the assumption that the majority of people in America are pot smokers.
Your wrong.
The majority of the people, in America, are conservative Christians...who will never legalize any recreational drug of any kind.
They would make alcohol and tobacco illegal if they could.

the majority of the people in america are not conservative christians, hell, not all christians are conservative, and many christians do not have a problem with pot smokeing, also, many non smokers see the legalization of pot as a possitive. This is not something only pot smokers are pushing for. Anyone who pay taxes and realizes the percentage of non-violent drug offenders they are paying to send to prison would have a good mind to consider alternative laws concerning marijuana. And please do not suggest that I am giveing myself to false assumptions simply because you are not seeing how broad this issue is. One of the few things in this universe that is sure and constant is change, and I feel it would be ignorant to belive that there is an exception here.

Maybe not conservative.....but the majority of Americans are Christian.

There are a few non-pot smokers who would like to see weed legalized. A very small few.
I have never heard the subject brought up by a non-pot smoker.
I would love to see pot legalized, dont get me wrong. I just dont see it happening unless we have a major political figure (a president) get behind the issue.

I am well aware of how broad this issue is. I just dont believe that the Christian majority will see it this way.
