Need to Gain Weight!!!!

I just destroyed a salad ( it was awesome, 4 types of lettuce, cherry tomatos, cheese....) and as i was munching i realised i dont eat anything that makes me gain weight. dont get me wrong, i splurge on junk every now and then but i am a healthfood freak. unfortunately all the healthy crap isnt good for putting on some pounds so i need to know what changes should i make in my diet to gain weight? what do i need to eat to get some meat? im freakin skinny!

Think about shooting for a 30% carbohydrate / 30% protein / 30% fat ratio in your meals.  Since you seem to have greater affinity for the veggies, you might want to consider buying a whey protein supplement that you can use in fruit/citrus smoothies or milkshakes.  Take it on days when you are doing strenuous physical activities such as hiking, sports, going to the gym, etc, and it will help maintain and increase muscle regeneration.  I would however not recommend taking it on a daily basis for extended periods of time... as with everything in life: moderation is key.

I'll also add that it is healthy to eat in smaller amounts, more regularly throughout the day, as opposed to larger amounts consummed in single sittings.  There are other supplements like creatine that could definitely help you gain weight quickly, but I would strongly advise against using them unless you are absolutely desperate to pack on the pounds with a quickness.  Check out CreatineMonohydrate.net for some info on that stuff.

Pick up a computer job where you sit 14 hours a day and eat fast food for lunch. Worked great for me :P

steroids= no way! legal or not.

i started my new diet today. instead of Three big meals i consumed six smaller ones(i dont know what the hell to call these crazy new mealtimes so excuse me). "breakfast1" was a bannanna and a glass of milk. breakfast2 was four special-K bars, juice on the way to work and 150mg of caffeine(mints, equivalent to 3 cups of coffee). lunch1 was  two (small) bags of flaming hot cheetoes, chicken strips with ranch, fries, and lots of water. in between that and my next meal i eat a power bar with protein and complex carbs, drink lots of water. later on, at my other job i eat a big ass bowl of curry rice with chicken,finish it off with hot tea. Final Dinner was two italian sausages with onions and green pepper, juice, and a cheescake bar for desert. day 1 and i already feel like a pig. :smile: this is gonna be fun.

go on remeron or other antidepressants known to make you gain weight. then you wont have any trouble gaining weight. hehe, im obviously being sarcastic here cus that's really drastic if you have no reason mentally to do so.

but seriously that would work, haha. i have the fastest metabolism like ever and i went on antidepressants a few years ago, fucked it all up and i gained like 70 pounds! oh i was so fucking pissed.. im fine now though, back to my old ways.

You sire, need more carbohydrates(complex or not), weight lifting is good to bulk up, but dont not feed yourself when you get hungry. eating SOMETHING every 4 hours is recomended to keep your metabolism going.

That should be considered an official "dangerous suggestion" considering mcdonalds is loaded with buttloads of fat and oils and can cause major health problems... The guy in Super Size Me got all messed up in the end.

Hey guys, I could offer some advice as I am a bodybuilder, but it seems that I would be writing to infinity as there is much to cover as far as nutrition and training goes.

Most of you are way of base when it comes to diet. Total calories and macro nutrient profiles are what you need to be concerned about in terms of weight loss/gain.

Anyways, if any of you are serious check out the forum at www.avantlabs.com here you will find IMHO some of the smartest individuals on the net concerning human performance. Actually, many of you will find that you share similar interests with many of the members.

Zepplin, maybe you're dying of inconsiderate.

Anyway- pour on the fish for protien minus unwanted problematics- not fired- baked. Keep you breads in perspective and by this I mean multi-grain and start a regimen of exercise to counterbalance weight gain. A lot of people try to gain weight by just eating and end up getting what they wished for- more weight- not muscle or anything relevant.
