one thing i can tell you. Switch out the perlite for vermiculite. I'm not sure about the relative humidity question though. If thats bubbling water all over the rocks, it shouldn't be too high, but wait for more experience before you take my advice please (except on my first sentence). Good luck, and happy shrooming!

You just dont want your cakes sitting in fog. (Like from a fogger duh).

The shrooms still have to breath. But as long as you cant see the water in the air it will be fine.

There is such a thing has having "too much" humidity. I had that problem, and the mushrooms became quite waterlogged--but they still grew OK. The only major dissapointment was the discrepency between the wet weight and the dry weight.

I get a lot of waterlogged shrooms because of having my h umidity too high. But it's nothing major really. Like Land Crab said it's just a bigger difference between wet and dry weight.

if you have perlite in the jars, you need to replace them with vermiculite, the finer grade the better. Perlite is excellent for terrarium bottoms to hold water and keep moisture up, but is awful for colonization by mycelium.

i was informed that the course grade vermiculite was better because it gives the myc breathing room. what yall say

Go to Ace Hardware and get a bag of Vermiculite, they usually only have one kind and that is what you want.
