So I decided that today would be a good day to prepare my San Pedros for consumption. And boy does it smell funky. not bad, just funky. I am using MJ's tek (which can be found here http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/2281314/an/0/page/0 ). So far so good. Got it on the boil now and am just waiting for some water to evaporate. Gonna have to wait until I am in Colorado till I can drink it though. Perhaps for Four-Twenty?

On a scale of 1 to 10, for someone who has never done the San pedro preparation or anything like it before, how difficult would you say it is? And how many different components do you need beyond the San Pedro cutting? AND, is it essentially the same thing as mescaline, or what? Never did read enough on San Pedro..

this is the first time I have attempted this, and so far it's proving to be pretty easy. Don't need much, just a blender, a 8 qt. pot, measuring cup, Pedros cuttings and patience. From what I hear, Pedros are essentially a mescaline trip but since there are other akaloids present it isn't like mescaline by it's self.

Thanks. And when you order the San Pedro, it's ready to go? Or did you have to grow it for a while?

it depends on how big it is when you get it. Theoretically, anything over 1' tall and at least 2 1/2 " in Diam. will do for one dose. but you know what they say, the bigger the better. You will get approximately 150-500 mg of mesc. per dose, but this varies widely with San Pedro, as different plants have different concentrations

I was thinking that a good gift for my girlfriend would be some San pedro that she could grow and take care of until there was enough for two, I think I just may do that.

Sounds like a great idea. The more work you put into it, the mopre you will get out of it. It's kinda like Karma.

So after a few hours of cooking up this delectable stuff, I think it is finally ready. this is what it started to look like after about an hour. And here it is straining . These are the cacti I used . They were each around 1 1/2-3' tall. I am going to split this dose into thirds and give some to my two buddies in Colorado. I will be sure to post a trip report, but it may take a while (no Internet where I am moving ). Just want to shout out a big thanks to Mushroom John for providing the excellent information on how to prepare the San Pedro cactus into something consumable.
Peace, Anubis
