"Six words: drop out, turn on, then come back and tune it in -and then drop out again, and turn on, and tune it back in-it's a rhythm- most of us think God made this universe in nature-subject object-predicate sentences-turn on, tune in, drop out- period, end of paragraph. Turn the page- it's all a rhythm- it's all a beat. You turn on, you find it inside, and then you have to come back (since you can't stay high all the time) and you have to build a better model. But don't get caught - don't get hooked - don't get attracted by the thing you're building, cause... you gotta drop out again. It's a cycle. Turn on, tune in, drop out. Keep it going, keep it going- the nervous system works that way. gotta keep it flowing- keep it flowing.

Religious doubts aside, look what the Pope did for our world.

Personally I hate Christianity, but you can't judge a man by his religion, only by his actions.

Like I said in that other thread - pushed the sexuality issues of the Catholic Church to intolerant extremes, and denied the right to birth control and condoms for the poor people in Third World countries, allowing diseases like AIDS to proliferate, along with poverty and ignorance.

the pope did nothing for the world other then preach his bible and let sexual predators in the church...OH never mind the church is so rich while most of his people in Poland are so poor or other 3rd world countries that have been taking over buy the Catholic crusade and made to believe that the church will save them if they just believe...you know also people love to say he got a noble peace prize..so what so did Arafat witch was the leader of a terrorist group....

all of you getting mad that we dont care about a man like the pope is silly...we have the right to think what we what to....

I cared just as much as if some other human being died. He was an important man, and it is easy to vilify important people.

I guess I just don't like the idea of a pope in the first place... some filthy rich guy who's the head of the most corrupt religion in history who lives in decadence while poor people starve all around him and somehow he's supposed to be closer to god than anyone else and revered for his 'holiness' even though they just end up picking a new pope anyway.. from the street if they have to. And all these people come flocking to him like he's the holy messiah and what does he do for them? That's what I thought.. I guess what I'm saying is fuck the pope.

Well of course if you don't believe in religion, you're not gonna like the pope. He isn't around for non-believer's sake anyways. Plus, I don't think he really has that much power anymore. Gone are the days when the Pope could condemn a war and stop it from happening. He's becoming much more of a figurehead, like the Queen of England.

I'm sure he wouldn't feel bad even if you were a Catholic. He's the Pope, so he believes Catholics are going to heaven anyways. No reason to feel bad for the blessed.
