I actually thought garden state was a pretty boring film. There was some nice cinematography, but the whole "troubled boy meets troubled girl and they have a mutually beneficial relationship" thing has been done to death. Would have been much more interesting (though maybe less nice) if at the end the guy shoots her in the face. It would at least have been something which I didn't see coming after just reading a synopsis.
OK, I'm being a bit harsh... It wasn't a bad film, but didn't strike me as being much more than eye candy :shrug:.

(maybe I'm just a miserable person!)

Personally, I thought the movie was really overrated as well. I'm not entirely sure why everyone loved the shit out of it.

I loved it almost entrely b/c of the music and cinematography. Plus, the acting was outstanding, regardless of the bland story.

i really really liked the story, it was a story that i can relate to...i mean my life is nothing like that guy's but its just very believable. i think we all experience some of the things he went through...plus u get to see natalie portman in panties
