500 tyvek envelopes

I just got my package from the postal service, 500 tyvek envelopes! :evil:  I was about to start cutting them into usable squares. Can you use the printed parts or do you have to use non-inked areas? also, where the envelope is glued together at the seams, should i just cut around it or can i use the seams as well?

Cut at the seams, and using the inked sections is fine.

I use the printed parts...and I don't use the seams with the glue.

just personal preference.

I keep all the completely white parts for myself and give alot of the printed parts away.

I bought a round protractor and draw a circle...then cut them out while watching movies with the kids.
They like to help the old man...so we can pump alot out in no time.
So they end up looking like filter discs.

great idea Roadkill. i didn't think you should use the seams, because of the glue. Being the frugal person that I am, i had to make sure.

I do the same, throw away glue parts, use colored parts.

Not if you fall asleep for 8 hours, and your PC runs dry (probably many hours before) and all the tyvek melts completly off :smirk:

Yeah I had 20 pounds of grain simmering on the burner next to it too :frown: It was a sad day. Plus the PC seal melted a bit.

Oh yeah ive done some major burnouts in the past..I love all-american pc`s because they take a lickkin and keep on kicking...
My first pc was a 8 qrt T-Fal and it survived 2 major smoke filled house burndowns...Dont drink beer late at night when you are doing mad scientist work :grin:

Well, a guy has to do that now & again.

Turning compost all morning, stirring soaking grains, jar'ing them up, pasturizing all afternoon, PC'ing all evening IS A LONG DAYS WORK.

Gotta take a break - sometimes.

Just best not to do that during PC phase.

I like to use the sticky part of the tyvek to seal my inoculation holes. beats wasting a band-aid (I need those more than i need tyvek)

And after all the drinks :cheers: and bong hits :bongload: you've got 40 quarts of colonizing grain, and all you know is somewhere in that stack there's like 10 differents strains, but no idea which is which lol.... :blazed:
