Do you use coco coir?

How does the coco coir casing (with lime or oyster shell) compare to a traditional casing of lets say peat, sand and lime? Does it hold sufficient moisture? Do you cook it first? How do you prepare it? Ive seen Anno's pisc and the stuff obviously works nice, I'd just like some more info. on the details, and feedback from other users.

cant compare it to anything else, as HQ has always used coir. its awesome though. colonizes very quickly. you ahve to watch out for overlay with it. it does hold adequate moisture, and takes hand sprayings well when needed (you can usu tell by sight if its dry. when you use it youll know what i mean). you dont have to sterilize it; HQ pours boiling water over it and rehydrates it like that. but its pretty idiot proof. if anno says its cool, id believe him :)

What's coco coir? where could i aquire this mystical substance????
I think its dumb when people say video games effect kids negatively. I mean, if Pac-Man effected us, we'd all hang out in dark rooms, muching pills, and listening to repetitive music.

I use coir for tropical plants, sometimes with sand, usually with pearlite. Works wonderfully, however it takes a little longer to absorb water than peatmoss.. I would reccomend.
