help! can't get rH above 90%

ok, here's what i got: about a 1 1/2 in. of perlite with about 1/4 in. of water and a little hydrogen peroxide thrown in, plus i have a bubble stone in a glass of hydrogen peroxide as well. i still cannot seem to get the rH above 90%. when ever i open the lid, it takes a significant amount of time for the rH to raise back up.any suggestions?

Misting after you fan helps replentish that humidity you lost...

ok, i just bought the hygrometer at radio shack put batteries in it and put it in the chamber, so i don't know if it is calibrated or not. i am using cakes.

Has it ever gone above 90%? if not, its the meter..you made it sound like it normally says 99% but drops to 90 when you fan..

If you mist after you fan, and your perlite is wet, you should be fine. Most likely, it's your hygrometer that isn't calibrated and its giving you false readings.

I went to Radio Shack yesterday and looked at those hygrometer's, they don't read above 95%Peace,Love,Happiness and Harmony.

no it has never raeched above 90%. i just set it up last night. how can i go about calibrating my hygrometer?

You cant...the problem isnt that it isnt calabrated. Its acurate...the problem is it just doesnt read that high. 99% of the time calabrations dont really do shit...unless you have a meter that is just off...
