Jars not doing anything?

On Monday of this week i put 20 jars together. Now four days later im still not seeing anything inside the jars. Should I be worried about this? I followed the MMGG prefectly except i might not have let them cool enough. If that is the case can I use my other syringes and put them in the jars? Or is it too late? As you can probably tell im new to this so any help is apprecaited. Thanks! ble0t

Just give it few more days. Spores germinate best at 88F, after this, 80-84 is good for mycelial growth, so you could raise your incubation temp for a day to help germination. Yes, you could use your other spore syringes as long as it's the same species (psylicybe cubensis I'm assuming) but it's unlikely your jars were too hot.

spores are killed at a little over 100 F. were your jars that hot? patience is a virtue. after ten days with no sign of growth, open and smell one jar. no nasty smell? then re-sterilize the jars and re-inocculate, including the one you smelled. bad smell. . . start over.

Okay here are the new things going on...the temp is about 79-80 degrees right now where the jars are. I am now seeing a slight amount of whispy little white growth. Nothing really solid yet. Im guessing only time will tell whether or not this is mycelium or not right?

everytime ive innoculated jars it takes at least 5 days to see the first signs of growth..

i wouldnt suggest resterilizing especially if you smell something bad..A resterilizing will make your water content drop drastically B if youve got contams its time to start over..some endospores are really hard to kill..plus that theyve already started to destroy the nutrients in your substrate..

you should be fine, as long as the jars smell fine. Sometimes it can take 7 or 8 days to see anything at all
