ok, i made up some brf/rye/verm jars on monday and i purposely mixed up a bunch extra to throw under some bushes in my backyard. i innoced them with some honey water mycellum and put some more mixture on top of it. by yesterday i saw some of the best myc. i have ever seen, even though the temps here in central NY have been about 65 or so daytime and mbe 50 at night. i cased it yesterday about 1pm with cow dung and by today at 11am the myc had grabbed teh 1/4 inch of dung and i see it popping up all over. my question is this: the temps here for teh next 10 days say it will be about low 60's. do you think i should chance fruiting outside, or should i dig up the patch and put it inside a terrarium? i know that wouldnt be easy but im willing to do it, ive yet to get any shrooms at all in my growing experience, i just started but i want some ASAP dammit :). think they wil grow in that climate if i keep them moist? btw they are psilocybe cubensis, not panaleous.

Some strains might fruit at that temp. Others like it hotter.
I would personally leave it outside if it is showing real strong growth and shit.

Sounds fine. Remember patience is a virtue. Just keep the bed watered.

Don't move the bed indoors. You will just create many more problems that way and not get any fruits. You will probably still see some fruit, but they may be small and slow growing, but with the mycelium growing as well as you described you shouldn't see too much of a problem with that. Just follow BP's advice and keep the bed well watered.

Hey BP and Shaggs, who is the artist of your Icons? I remember seeing his stuff years ago, but I forget his name. Cool stuff.

take some clear plastic sheating or underbed type plastic box and create a greenhouse over your patch if you really think you have a problem, but i don't think you do. your objective is to get daytime temp up to about 80. in the natural habitat of cubies, the nightime temps often still will fall to 50 during fruiting season. neglect tek is still your best option.

I agree with tchyted here.Keep it outdoors and cover it up with a tubberware bottom or any plastic box during the night if you want. They should do fine.

ok, i guess per all your reccomendations ill keep them outside. its hard as hell to keep them watered tho and i cant set up a tent or anything because im sure my parents would flip if they knew what i was doing. ill just try to water them as much as possible and see what pops up. i heard something along the lines of that the strain would matter so i can say that it is acadian coast cubies from louisiana off a print that i got from sporeworks dated may/01.
