PNW outdoor cubensis cultivation

I am pretty sure this is the right forum for this question, if not I am sorry.
Well anyways i remember last season seeing pictures of people growing there cubensis outdoors with great success. i just had a few questions to ask and if any of you have any expierence with this any info wold be greatly appreciated!
1. What kind of set up/ supplies are need for outdoor cultivation?
2. What time of the year would be best for this?(late spring, summer, late summer)

1. compost or manure, straw or hay or grass clippings, something to spawn the bed with (PF cakes, colonized grain, etc.), water

There have already been beds spawned this year but I don't know how they're doing. He'll reply later and if you ask nice I bet he'll tell ya. Although they aren't his, so he may not know either. I doubt with the weather being so dry they could be doing all that well but as soon as it does rain the warm weather should work out well.
