pinning question
    #390067 - 09/10/01 08:20 AM (17 years, 4 months ago)

I cased about 20 /2 pint jars of pf eq's about a week ago, the mycelium had overgrown the peat but has not started pinning. I'm seeing very small water droplets on the surface, which may mean too much humidity. Is that why I'm not seeing any pinning? I also birthed 2 cakes into a cake pan with wet paper towels on the bottom, and a soda bottle sitting over top. I put them in he fridge for about six hours, than in the basement overnight. It's been 2 days, and no pinning? what's up? Am I just too impatient?

Yep,just being a little impatient. They will pin. Just keep fanning and make sure your temp is right and they will fruit. The little water dropplet won't hurt anything. If your ecuadors are anything like mine, they will be well worth the wait!

Ive noticed it takes exactly 10 days to go from case to harvest - of course this may diffre froim person to prson, but if 10 days hasnt elapsed, keep your hat on.
I am a little concerned about the water droplets on your casing - I would increase fanning, and mist if your see top is drying to much, water that sits around goes rancid, and makes contams, so be careful-
I wish you the best of luck!
