i would buy a slightly used vehicle. automobiles are the worst investment ever. i believe the average new vehicle loses 20% of its value once it is driven off the lot.

I highly recommend a GMC Canyon, or a Chevy Colorado. I got a 04 Canyon not too long ago....and i must say....:thumbup:

personally i stay away from anything chrysler! they always seem to have somthing fucking up. the only ones i would stay away fcrom more are pontiac, not that they make what your looking for anyway.

if you dont like toyota (my suggestions also as tehy are way better off road) i would try and go something that isnt a pickup truck. pickups arnt great 4x4's when you compare them to things like tracker/sidkicks and broncos. but they do the logging road bit fine and dandy (then again so does my 4 door sedan).

anyway, my suggestion is pick another brand but thats jsut me.

i have a very good opinion (atleast in my opinion :smile: ), get a GOOD truck.  I heard bad ones aren't to great to own.

summit, trust me on this... Dodge sucks, the transmissions are $3500 with of
shit and the one rented for the gathering had absolutely no power with the magnum
engine.

I agree the dodges trans sucks. But I think it is do to too much power. They arnt built to peel out. And let me tell you I can lay down a patch like nothing.

Mine will do a 100 like nothing and will get up to sixty relatively fast. Well used to cuz I now need a new trans.

3 transmissions were put into my brothers dodge, he had a 6 cylinder.

OK.  After two weeks of test drives and research I think the decision has been made.  I have driven about 30 different trucks and looked at hundreds of them over the last two weeks.

And the winner is...


But the truck pictured in that summary is not correct.  It will be a SuperCab, not a 4-door Crew Cab.  And it has the flare-side bed.  It will look more like this...


Opinions?  Anyone have any more input on the subject?  The wife talked me into spending just a bit more then I had planned to get a little bit nicer model.  I wasn't going to worry about stuff like power windows/locks/mirrors, but she talked me into upgrading it a bit.  I will be ordering this truck within the next 2 weeks and should have it delivered 8 to 10 weeks after that.  Looks like I'll be doing some off-road camping trips this summer! :laugh: :thumbup:
