Almost 100% sure dogs cannot smell LSD. LSD has no taste or odor when 100% pure. If you have other drugs with it, that is a different story.

Find me one legal case where someone had LSD and it was sniffed out by a dog. A rule to this is they could not have had any other substances with or on them.

ya most likely the person had weed smell on them and thats what the dogs smell, but they only find acid so they say the dog smelled acid

I'm resurrecting this as my first post.

1.)  Yes dogs can be trained to sniff out cubensis mushrooms.
    Sometimes the smell can be strong when you have a lot of them.
    If a person can smell a bag without looking at it and know what it is.  A dog cubensis a dog can find the scent trails also.

2.)  Dogs are not trained by most / law / police to do so.  It would be tough to get them to hone in on all psychoactive mushrooms.  The dogs are trained on the other core drugs heroin, coke, marijuana, etc...

3.)  Shrooms are still a felony so be extremely careful.
The best advice is to conceal and triple vacuum seal pretty much anything.

I know overseas they use pigs to "root out" truffles.  You might have better luck with a pig.

They have also used bears to find and root out truffles as well.  They are real money makers because they can dig well.  But they are dangerous.  A bear killed a handler when they fought over a truffle in Canada.

We were focused on the legal aspect of it though... You can train a dog but most people have not.  I bet some individuals have... It isn't hard to train a dog to sniff stuff out for yourself either...

Of course!!! A dog could sniff cubes!!! It would be just as easy for a dog to sniff cubes as heroin,  coke,  Meth. If it was trained to.

To train a drug dog to sniff out various substances, they put enough of it in their favorite toy until they know the smell and seek it out. So when a drug dog is looking for your weed in your car, it really just wants to play. Now think about mushrooms or lsd, if a dog starts playing with a toy filled with enough drug to smell it, said dog will soon be higher than a kite, maybe even experiencing ego death! That is just one reason dogs arent trained to sniff out these drugs, besides the fact that they are nowhere near as profitable as the easier drugs to train them for.

I was wondering about this myself. i tried to bring an ounce of mushrooms from Mexico and i had them in my underwear. i was told to go to secondary inspection where I was  handcuffed behind my back and taken to a room where i was searched. They found the mushrooms, took me to a smaller room where i was told to pull the bag part way out of my underwear while theypotgraphed me. then I was chained by my ankle to a steel bench for 2 and a half hours. l didnt know if i was going to jail or prison... got with a $500 fine. The reason why I share this is because I've been crossed that border from Mexico into the US many times and never been hassled. this was like THEY KNEW, and they have dogs walking around the cars as you wait. This makes me wonder if one of the dogs tipped them off or if I was picked for a random search, i feel i was profiled because I look like Ozzy for crissakes! my long hair, black fingernail polish, and eyeliner prolly didnt help.

I don't know about dogs being able to sniff them, but I know if you throw them in the toilet if the cops are after you, they cannot test them for some reason. My buddy had a mushroom psilocybin charge and they dropped the charges because he threw them in the toilet and they couldn't test.
