Actually Sir, I was quite satisfied when you accepted my invitation and first posted your signature in this thread so others would more easily under stand the color scheme in my "vision" as I described....  NOW, I *think* there is a better understanding of colors all around....

At least as how I perceive them....    :peace:

All of your last post wreaked of ego! Stunk to the high heavens of egocentricity. Why challenge me to do anything? That in itself is a manifestation of ego.

Challenging you to find proof in your statements is not egocentric....  But I *think* we are miscommunicating on the "I AM.... (GOD)" actual meaning....  And I ask.....?

You were challenging me to find proof of ego in "your" statements, which is a silly challenge in that you want me to try to confirm or deny the existence of 'your' ego.

That my friend is a challenge that you must undertake yourself, im sure its not my repsonibility. However the very fact that you asked is a sign that indeed self-grasping is most certainly at play.

SinBad, The colors are still clear, and I still thank you....  :sun:    Leggo my Ego....       (A reference to an old commercial about "Eggos", humor....)    Had you called me a liar, and I had challenged you to find proof in my words, by your reasoning, that would most certainly make me a liar....    Or would it be my ego lying....?  HHhhmmmm....    Perhaps I should switch to "Toaster Struddle"....?       MMmmmmmm....  Struddle.....       (Good thing I have an oven in my original post, I is HUNGRY....!)  Chompa~ Chompa~...!

That's a completely different thing my friend. The 'ego' only exists in the person who is demonstrating it, the very fact that you asked me to look for evidence of ego means that you are either unsure of the fact yourself, or attempting to demonstrate that your words are ego-less both of which indicate the presence of ego.

If i called you a liar, and then you asked my to examine your words for proof of your lies, then  i could test your words in practice or against the relevant information to discover the truth.

But how can i detect ego in your words? The only way for me to detect ego, is if you clearly demonstrate it by asking me to detect it! That way i can be sure that your ego is at work, because a person who is ego less needs know-one to believe in their egolessness. And also a person without a self-cherishing attitude (ego) would only be interested in helping others, not proving or disproving there own egolessness.

SinBad,  Perhaps you are right, and I need to study up at least a little on *ego* itself before I would try to think that I understand it's full meaning....  In my blind confidence of *feeling* pure again thru my experience above, you mentioned that I had an ego....  I was more trying to have you locate what you would have considered *ego* within my words so that I could better understand my *ego*, or the deeper meaning of *ego* itself....  I was asking for you to shine light upon my error in humblness and retrospect....  And it would appear that my playful manner and confidence in knowing my words written fully exposed my *ego* by making a challenge towards you - as *perceived* by others....

Since it is my playful manner, and my attempt at humor that is sometimes misunderstood, --and sometimes actually gets me in trouble in real life--, perhaps understanding this aspect of myself would help me better understand what is appropriate, and what is not, and when....  That would be a difficult task as I see it now, as the perceptions of others (by myself as an observer) could never be fully understood unless I was to be able to *predict* other's interpretations, or if I was able to actually step into their shoes for a (lifetime)moment to understand how someone else would individually perceive my attempts....  Either of which are *seemingly impossible*....

Pehaps in my own reflection and attainment of understanding, the light you have shown will help me better understand my ego itself....  As I am a begginer to ALL of this, I came here to see if I could find Spirituality and a better understanding of myself - in a logical sence ( )....  As I have been, and always will forever be a student....  In life, as well as in death, thru experience and understanding, what I perceive to be real, and my understanding of that, will help me in my learning more about myself (and others?)....

SinBad, I do genuinely thank you for shining this light upon my eyes....  As this is somewhat ironic in a way, given the title of this thread....  The colors ARE grand (as I perceive them)....

It requires a large degree of fearlessness to go swimming in a river of poisonous snakes. I can never presume to know how you are, and therefore it is impossible for me to determine the precise characteristics of your condition.

However that said the ego is simply self-grasping, or the attitude that holds dearly to that precious reference point we call 'I'. When we observe ourselves with mindfulness we see how this 'ego' operates clearly in our consciousness.

Mindfulness is a faculty which is latent in all human beings. If we understand this, its easier to understand how to observe ourselves. its like any other faculty such as the faculty for music or mathematics. Like these, mindfulness lies dormant until we do something about it. if we want to become musicians, we practice and gradually that faculty grows and becomes expressed.

While we tend to understand this about life, we don't understand it about mindfulness. As a result many people come to the practice of mindfulness with a kind of mystical, magical view.

True mindfulness is more subtle, so its more difficult for us to know that it is developing, because it doesn't develop in the forefront of the mind. it doesn't develop in the mind that is looking with its cognitive, intellectual, analyzing, rational faculty. it develops laterally. it is a deep broadening of the mind that slowly increases sensitivity and perceptiveness, it increases ones self-awareness, the capacity to see, know and understand what is going on in ones own mind and around oneself. This is a subtle process because sometimes we don't quite realize we have picked things up. It takes a bit of time to recognize the change.

It is also a process of steadily bringing ourselves out of distraction. Or if we remain in distraction, beginning to know when we are distracted. Formerly, we didn't know we were distracted. Where there is no mindfulness we are distracted, and we don't realize it. We are so into our daydreams or whatever that we walk into walls and trip over our feet. Slowly with mindfulness those areas are pushed back. So it terms of actual training, its all about mindfulness. That's where all our effort is directed. If we focus on training and developing mindfulness, everything else will automatically develop.

If we switch on a light in a room, the darkness is dispelled and we automatically see what is there. if we develop mindfulness the ground for profound inner growth is prepared and we experience deeper states of consciousness.

As it would seem, I had your back while you wrote your reply to me....
(Not that you would ever *need* my help.... )

Very chilling words you write, as well as heartwarming in realization....
Humbling....  Truth....

Pehaps in my search for my meaning, my embrace for my newly found Faith in GOD is a "logical" way for my mind to accept all of those things that man has yet (if ever) to truly understand....  More in terms of all of the things we "cannot" see....  For truly, *MOST* of the things listed on my very first post, man will NEVER understand the EXACT meaning of any of them....  So logically, there is no logic at all....  And perhaps my ego was grasping for *truth* as my journey yet continues....  That is how I came to the conclusion (myself) that we are indeed part of something much much bigger than what we perceive here and now in life....  It seemed to be a profound realization for me that filled my heart with an undescribable JOY, HAPPINESS, and CONTENTMENT....  Something I cannot explain as no one can "see" what I have experienced and described, I can only show thru my intent and meaning with my words....

I will forever remain "enlightened"....  And I will shine that light with much mindfullness in mind on those that actively participate in LIFE around me....  As I have (mostly)always done in my flawed past....  To me, my enlightenment gives it all meaning....  A gift to be shared, as it is a resource that is truly limitless, as is the Universe filled with the space of light and darkness that we cannot fully see nor fully comprehend....

It makes it easy for me to understand ALL of the things I do not understand by saying that GOD is the magician behind the curtains of this grand show, that is of LIFE and GOD....  For I chose to take down those very curtains to enjoy the mastery of the performer that allows me to enjoy this show....  The magic is still just as profound as it was, there is just a deeper meaning of appreciation for LIFE now....

And what a spectacularly grand show it is....!
:::::insert fireworks here:::::

As for my understanding, GOD IS of Light, Love and Understanding  --as it were....
Aaaahhh, to master this gift I have been given (Life & Knowledge) will be forever filled with mindfulness - in hopes that it should spread....
As my choice to due so is another one of those things that one cannot see....  Or perhaps I am mistaken....

Your outlook seems to be the very definition of spiritual materialism. But that of course is an assumption that has yet to be proven correct or incorrect, but definielty corresponds to my intuition.

I suggest you read a book by a famous teacher called Choygyam Trnugpa Rinpoche called 'Cutting through spiritual materialism.

As i have said before 'Those who know dont say, only point the way". Your experiences of pleasure, joy and contentment are impermenant and will not last, that i can guarantee. Until you can go beyond concept, never consider yourself enlightened.

All of us forever beginners on our paths. Our master awareness, our tool mindfullness, our enemy the self-cherishing attitude.

Well, I believe in neutrinos, but you can't see thoes.
As a matter of fact, there are thousands of them going through you right now.
It's close to impossible to catch thoes little suckers too.
So, uh, to your question, it depends if we can prove it scientifically.

I have never heard of "neutrinos", but I have heard of "Tackions"....  Might be something similar....?  It has been a long time since I have heard them talked about....

One thing to note that I JUST noticed about the list created....

Most everything listed is 100% FREE....
(With the exception of:  X-Rays, MicroWave Ovens, and Freedom)

There is a profoundity within that in itself....
