Living in the Dark
    #3831951 - 02/25/05 07:29 AM (19 years, 1 month ago)

I am going to do an experiment, because I'm a freak with little else to do. I have put foil over all the windows in my apt. I have made sure absolutely no light can get in. I have candles set up, which will be the only light I use for the next week, with the exception of this computer, which I can also watch TV on if I want. I have all the groceries I need. I have good music. I have some good drinks. And I have a shitload of shrooms, pot, and other necessaries. I plan on tripping at least 3 times during the next week. Will I be able to tell if it's night/day? I've gotten rid of clocks, etc. Will I get too scared doing this tripping? Will I go nuts?

TIME TO FIND OUT!

Living in the dark isn't healthy for you, us humans were made to be in sunlight! Not only will you not get the vitamin E that you need, but it will mess up your melatonin/seratonin sleep cycle and freak out your body. You could actually get sick! Plus, if you have no idea what day/time it is, how will you know when you need to come back out?

Be careful, no getting sick!

Thanks for the shows of confidence. Yeah, the point is to find out what it will do to me. I am told all that dark will get to you. Tinfoil blocks all the light. I'm already seen as a freak so I don't care what the neighbors think. Of course, most of you are freaks too, don't you know? Or do you think you have a life here in the shroomery that somehow makes you not a freak.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

No, I didn't say that at all

I didn't say you were a freak, "freak" can be a bad thing, while here there are all good things  I just don't want you to get sick or freak out on us, that would be a bad thing. People who go outside and do things look and are much healthier than people who work in cubicles all day and then drive home and sit inside all night. I just want what's best for you  Why not camp out for a week with your goodies instead of shutting yourself up inside?

Good luck with whatever you do! Keep us posted :goodluck:

I agree, there is a real risk of you getting sick. Once, when I was a depressed teenager, I lived in total darkness for about a week. I never left my room. The bathroom was right there, and I had all the food and tv I needed. But seriously, it just made me feel even more terrible. People need light!

Now maybe you are of different character then I. I think that you'd get more out of going into the woods and tripping, BUT, if you can't be dissuaded about this experiment then I say good luck. At least afterwards it will make an interesting story.

I've read that if you live in complete darkness for a couple of days you will start tripping without using any substance. But it must be complete darness. Which would be a bitch with eating, toilet and entertainment.
